PREPARE YOUR QUILT FOR QUILTING:

Preparing your quilt top is one of the most important things you will do before sending it to me to be quilted.

Please see the following information, requests, and tips:

Quilt Top:

At this time, I am not accepting any quilt tops with applique, buttons, or other embellishments.

Make sure to remove all stray threads from the quilt top (both the front and back of the quilt top).

Also, make sure there are no holes or popped seams.

It is greatly appreciated if you would do a ‘victory lap’ around the edge of your quilt top. Victory Lap = stay stitch 1/8”-1/4” around the edge of the entire quilt top (especially if there are no borders).

Do NOT baste your quilt. If you have questions about this, please contact me before shipping your quilt.

Give your quilt top a good pressing, especially any bulky seams.

Backing & Batting:

Please make sure your backing is 4” bigger on all sides of your quilt top. This means if your quilt top is 58” x 85”, your backing should be 66” x 93”. (if you are providing your own batting, this also needs to be cut larger than your quilt top).

If your quilt top has a top or backing that is directional, please note that on the quilt request form.
