Liberty Basket

Wool Applique project pattern by Tracy Souze of Plumcute Designs ™

I just couldn't resist the kit for this wool applique project called Liberty Basket, which I saw at a local quilt show in February

The original pattern shows the piece framed, but the kit I purchased had the makings for a 16” x 16” pillow.

I wanted my pillow a bit larger, so I used the red fabric provided in the kit for the trim and the backing, but chose a navy gingham for the border on my pillow. I made mine to fit a 20” x 20” pillow insert.

Wool Applique, cross stitch, and embroidery are not my strong suit. But I really enjoy any type of handwork. So even though my results aren't always "professional," I still thoroughly enjoy doing it.

I'm super pleased with how this turned out and proud of myself for finishing it!
